But what are the key takeaways from this list? Join us as we delve into the most noteworthy insights from Pornhub, guiding you through the trends that defined 2023. Let’s explore the key takeaways and get you inspired for the year to come!

The Top Growing Trend

Let’s kick off with the burning question: which search term witnessed the most significant surge in the past year? Well, it was none other than ‘Mature!’.

This single term experienced a staggering 75% growth in 2023, with its subcategories soaring exponentially too.

Let’s explore the eye-opening stats about mature content that might just leave you equally surprised:

• “MILF” became the 2nd most searched term in the world.
• Terms like “DILF” and “muscle DILF” grew by 71%,
• “GILF” searches grew in popularity by 168%.
• “Granny” searches grew in popularity by 138%.

It’s safe to say that mature content was the mother of all trending topics!

The Most Searched Term

Now we’ve explored the hottest grower, you may be wondering what term took the cake overall.

Coming just above the term ‘Mature’, it was ‘Hentai!’ That’s right, last year was the age of fantasy, and people couldn’t get enough of it.

But what is it about Hentai porn that makes it so compelling? Here are just a few of the reasons people are drawn to this erotic art form:

• Unreal Characters: The drawings in Hentai surpass the incredible beauty of real pornstars or anyone for that matter!
• No-Acting Scenarios: It feels as though, as the years go by, fewer and fewer people are engaged in orchestrated porn scenes. The choreographed angles, cheesy scenarios, and smoke and mirrors of high-budget productions no longer capture the audience's imagination. In contrast, cartoons offer a refreshing escape from the scripted norm. It may sound ironic, but hentai porn has a unique authenticity about it!
• Risk-Free Pleasure: This may seem slightly dull, but there are a lot of risks in porn, especially scenes involving the likes of BDSM. With Hentai porn, there are no actors, meaning that the characters can get up to whatever they like!

The Top Relative Searches Per State

If you’re an American reader, this one may particularly pique your interest. Every year, amidst the multitude of infographics, a Pornhub map emerges, spotlighting the most popular searches in each state across the USA.

While some results might be expected, others definitely catch you off guard. Curious about what got your state going? Let’s find out the trends that fueled solo sessions from coast to coast!

• Texas - Creamy: Out of all the Pornhub terms, creamy reigned supreme in 2023 for Texas! The Lone Star State evidently had a taste for the passion (and messiness!) that this term brings to the table.
• Georgia - Ebony Solo: In the peach state, Georgia, ‘Ebony Solo’ claimed the top spot. With an abundance of ebony hotties throughout the state and the presence of gorgeous escorts in Atlanta, it’s no surprise that this phrase was so popular.
• Arkansas - Ass to Mouth: Mouth: In Arkansas, the acronym ‘ATM’ took on a totally different meaning. From rimming scenes to facesitting, there is a whole host of fun to be found on Pornhub with a simple search of this category.
